Na noite de 05 de setembro, o La Iglesia recebeu o Contortion para mais um capítulo de sua trajetória no underground. A casa não estava lotada, é verdade, mas quem ocupava o espaço viveu cada segundo dentro da música — entregue aos riffs cortantes, à força rítmica e ao peso que a banda descarregou do início ao fim.

O La Iglesia, com seu cenário gótico de vitrais coloridos e iluminação intensa, foi o palco perfeito para a proposta da banda. Mesmo sem uma plateia numerosa, a conexão foi total. Os presentes estavam ali por convicção, não por acaso, e se deixaram envolver pela energia que vinha do palco. Era aquele tipo de noite em que a ausência de grandes multidões dá lugar à proximidade, ao olhar direto entre banda e público, criando uma comunhão quase ritual.

O show começou com “Idiot Box”, faixa que já de cara mostrou a agressividade do Contortion. Na sequência, “Land of the Blind” e “Dreaming Alone” firmaram a atmosfera, com riffs densos e vocais carregados de raiva e melancolia.

O ponto de virada veio com “New Millennium Revolution”, trazendo groove e fúria em doses iguais. A surpresa da noite ficou por conta de “Within the Empire”, música inédita que revelou um Contortion ainda mais sombrio, com arranjos que flertam com o progressivo sem perder o peso visceral.

A sequência final foi um golpe certeiro: “Guttersnipe”, seguida do poderoso outro de “I Am No One”, e então “No Destination”, mostrando a capacidade da banda de transitar entre passagens mais cadenciadas e explosões brutais. O encerramento com “Among the Stars” foi catártico, misturando melodia e agressividade num ponto alto que deixou o público em transe.

On the night of September 5th, La Iglesia hosted Contortion for yet another chapter in their underground journey. The venue wasn’t packed, that’s true, but everyone inside was fully immersed — surrendering to the sharp riffs, relentless rhythm, and sheer heaviness the band unleashed from start to finish.

La Iglesia, with its gothic stained-glass backdrop and dramatic lighting, proved to be the perfect stage for the band’s proposal. Even without a massive audience, the connection was absolute. Those present were there out of conviction, not chance, and gave themselves completely to the energy coming off the stage. It was one of those nights where the lack of a huge crowd turned into intimacy, with direct eye contact between band and audience — a near-ritual communion.

The show opened with “Idiot Box”, immediately setting the tone with aggression. Next came “Land of the Blind” and “Dreaming Alone”, tracks that solidified the atmosphere with dense riffs and vocals charged with both anger and melancholy.
