Além de clássicos como “Enlighten Me”, “Spirit Never Dies”, “Crimson Rider”, “Back for My Life” e “Soulburn”, a banda surpreendeu ao incluir “Time of the Oath”, numa performance arrebatadora que fez o público vibrar do início ao fim.

Encerrando com “The Chance”, “Crawling from Hell” e “The Dark Ride”, o Masterplan cravou no Opinião um show memorável, daqueles que reafirmam a força e a longevidade do metal melódico.

Live performance of the band Masterplan at Bar Opinião in Porto Alegre, featuring powerful guitar and bass work, and an intense atmosphere under striking stage lights.

On the night of November 2, Bar Opinião in Porto Alegre was overtaken by the sheer force of European power metal. After outstanding opening sets from Phornax and Tierramystica, it was up to the Germans of Masterplan to close the evening with mastery, precision, and emotion in equal measure.

The venue was packed, though not completely full, creating a perfect atmosphere — intense yet comfortable, where every chord resonated clearly and the audience could fully surrender to the music without losing that direct connection to the stage.

With Rick Altzi on vocals, Roland Grapow (founder and guitarist), Axel Mackenrott on keyboards, Jari Kainulainen on bass, and Marcus Dotta — the Brazilian powerhouse behind the drums — Masterplan displayed impressive cohesion. From the opening number “Rise Again”, it was clear the band is in top form, delivering a powerful, crystal-clear sound that balanced heaviness and melody in perfect harmony.

Roland, ever precise and calm, seemed to relive the golden days of his Helloween era, while Altzi commanded the stage with vigor and charisma. Meanwhile, Dotta, with his sharp technique and confident energy, proved why he’s one of Brazil’s standout drummers on the international scene — a true source of pride for the local metal community.

The setlist celebrated the band’s history and its undeniable connection to the Helloween legacy. Alongside classics like “Enlighten Me”, “Spirit Never Dies”, “Crimson Rider”, “Back for My Life”, and “Soulburn”, the band surprised fans with a stunning rendition of “Time of the Oath” — a performance that sent waves of excitement through the crowd.

The most symbolic moment of the night came with “Heroes”, when Guy Antonioli from Tierramystica joined Altzi on stage to share vocals — a collaboration that united Porto Alegre and Germany in pure metallic communion. The audience responded passionately, fists raised, singing along in unison.

Closing with “The Chance”, “Crawling from Hell”, and “The Dark Ride”, Masterplan delivered a memorable concert that reaffirmed the power and longevity of melodic metal.

Masterplan doesn’t sound like a band trapped in nostalgia — far from it. Their performance radiated vitality, passion, and absolute command of the stage. It was the kind of show that reminds us why these songs shaped a generation, yet still feel alive and relevant today.
