Bandas de rock alternativo, proto-punk, hardcore, punk rock melódico, riot grrrl, pop punk, pós-punk e indie rock dividem espaço na lista dos “100 melhores álbuns de punk rock de todos os tempos”, divulgada nesta semana pela Rolling Stone. O ranking chamou atenção justamente pela amplitude de estilos contemplados. Sem deixar de lado nomes fundamentais como Ramones, Black Flag, The Clash e Sex Pistols, a seleção também abriu espaço para artistas escolhidos a partir de critérios como influência, inovação, independência criativa, postura política e impacto sobre gerações futuras.
Por isso, aparecem no ranking nomes como The Stooges, New York Dolls e Patti Smith, artistas que, como definiu a própria revista, “já eram punk em espírito antes mesmo de o estilo ter um nome”.
O topo da lista é ocupado pelo álbum de estreia homônimo dos Ramones, impulsionado também pelas celebrações de seus 50 anos. Lançado em 23 de abril de 1976, o disco é reconhecido mundialmente como o marco zero do punk rock e um dos trabalhos mais influentes da história do gênero.
Outro destaque importante é a forte presença feminina no ranking. A londrina X-Ray Spex aparece em segundo lugar, consolidando o legado de Poly Styrene como uma das vozes mais revolucionárias do punk. Entre os 20 primeiros colocados, também figuram bandas fundamentais do movimento riot grrrl, como Sleater-Kinney e Bikini Kill, reforçando o protagonismo das mulheres na construção e reinvenção do gênero.
